Alta Vista de Boracay: The Island's Own Hillside Paradise
Posted by Bianca C
Summer is finally here! So where do I plan to spend my favorite season of the year? None other than the white sand beaches of Boracay! Just like every other 20-something year old out there, I am looking forward to spending a few extremely hot summer days lounging on beach chairs, soaking up the sun and watching the calming waves of the sea with an ice cold Jonah’s mango shake in hand.
People always think of Boracay as the typical beach-by-day, party-by-night summer getaway. Back when I was in college, my friends and I would spend our summer vacations in Boracay and we would make it a point to always search for a resort that was located right in the heart of all the hustle-and-bustle. But as much fun as it is to be in the center of all the madness, it’s also nice to appreciate the sun, sand and sea away from all the commotion.
I guess you can say that it comes with age, but for our upcoming trip this summer, my friends and I decided that we wanted to try something different for a change. We agreed to find a place that’s more serene and secluded. We wanted to find a resort wherein we could lounge around and relax all day without being bothered by noisy crowds, and at the same time still enjoy the beauty of the beach.
Upon learning about Alta Vista de Boracay, we instantly fell in love with the luxurious and tranquil appeal of the resort. Located on a prime, hillside location with a gorgeous view of the surrounding ocean and fairways, it has all the makings of a private sanctuary. Being one of the largest resorts on the island, it consists of 17 buildings with 500 beautifully furbished rooms, with a mix of studio and loft suites. The resort also has its own infinity pool, spa and steam room to help guests unwind in a more urban atmosphere. For beach babies like me though, Alta Vista provides access to three of the most popular ones on the island: White Beach, Punta Bunga and Puka Beach.

Swimming and frolicking around the beach can also get pretty tiring, so for days when my friends and I will prefer to stay in, Alta Vista also offers a variety of activities within their grounds. One can access the net, go zip-lining, horseback riding, and even sing videoke! My friends and I LOVE to sing (despire our blatant lack of vocal talent) so we are most definitely going to drop by the resort’s videoke room at least once or twice during our stay!

The resort also has its own signature restaurant, Cafe Vista, which allows guests to indulge in a tasty selection of Filipino, Asian and Continental cuisine, while giving them the option to enjoy the view of Boracay's white sand beaches and clear blue water. Since my friends and I also love to eat, we will definitely spend a lot of time in Cafe Vista to enjoy coffee, meals and even a few after dinner drinks.
After reading up on all that the resort has to offer, I am more excited than ever to get away from all the stress of Metro Manila! I can't wait to just sit back, relax and enjoy Boracay with the girls in the comfort of our chosen summer sanctuary, Alta Vista de Boracay!
